The Xiaomi 12T will join the family. Unsurprisingly, there will be two variants of this smartphone, Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro, with the latter including 120W HyperCharge.
Xiaomi’s latest leak reveals vital smartphone specs. The Xiaomi 12T (named Plato) will include an overclocked MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor dubbed Ultra, according to leaked information. This variant presumably has improved performance but the same 5nm production node as the 8100.

This sensor will be combined with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Front-facing 20-megapixel Sony IMX596 selfie camera. We may anticipate the Xiaomi 12T to offer 67W or 120W fast charging out of the box.
Xiaomi 12T Comparison to Samsung?
Xiaomi outperforms Samsung in several aspects. The Xiaomi 12’s curved display and faster charging speed make it more comfortable to carry than the S22. Its battery is also larger. That doesn’t mean it’s perfect; our testing revealed a few rough spots.
Xiaomi offers entertaining camera settings like Sky editing and macro for close-ups. A telephoto lens for zoom photography is lacking, however. This leaves digital or ‘cropping’ zoom in the camera app, so the phone isn’t great for close-up photos.
Xiaomi is one of a few phone makers that exclusively offers zoom on premium models, yet it’s lacking here. At least that defect is purposeful; others don’t look like features.
Price and Availability
Xiaomi 12 costs $749/£749 (AU$1,320). Power users may prefer the 256GB model for $849 / £849 (about AU$1,500). Xiaomi doesn’t sell phones in the US, thus this handset won’t be sold there. As a recognized currency, the dollar price is likely a guideline.
We often compare the Xiaomi 12 to the Samsung Galaxy S22. The 128GB version of same phone costs $799 / £769 / AU$1,249. Xiaomi 12 Pro costs £1,099/£1049 (approximately AU$1,850). The pre-order date was April 1, April Fools’ Day, before a ‘real’ release on April 15.
