Motorola just verified reports of a 200MP Smartphone. A teaser showing numerous smartphone camera sensors highlights the 1/1.22′′ unit. The phone uses Samsung’s 200MP HP1 sensor. All 200MP can be 0.64-micron pixels. Samsung’s ChameleonCell pixel-binning technology groups four or 16 pixels into a single bigger pixel. Isocell HP1 can be configured as a 50MP sensor with 1.28-micron pixels or a 12.5MP sensor with 2.56-micron pixels.
