WhatsApp is working on a feature that will let you Undo message deletion

Undo Message Deletion

It lets you undo a deleted WhatsApp message. This feature only works for “Delete for me,” not “Delete for everyone.” When you erase a message, a bar briefly displays the “Undo” option, giving you time to recognise whether you made a mistake. This is useful if you want to delete a message for everyone but only for yourself.

Have you ever deleted an important communication by accident? WhatsApp has anticipated such cases, and according to WABetaInfo, the feature to undelete a message is in the latest Android beta (for now, it only works for “Delete for me”). WhatsApp is adding message recovery. WABetaInfo says certain beta users can get the feature with the previous version, but it’s in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.22.18.13.

WhatsApp is focusing on undeleting messages. The Play Store beta update includes the feature. The official release date for this beta feature has not been disclosed. It’s unclear if a “Delete for everyone” undo delete capability is in the pipeline. Other upcoming WhatsApp features

Other Features

The WhatsApp development team has been testing and developing new features that should be available soon. Let’s recap the latest WhatsApp beta features so you know what’s coming.

WhatsApp has been focusing on status updates, and it seems like the service is considering Stories. A beta version of the app (for Android so far) recently added a quick reaction capability for status updates. It lets you react to someone’s status update with an emoji, like Instagram Stories. WhatsApp status updates aren’t finished. Another recently discovered (and still under development) feature is the option to record a voice note as a status update.
