You’re not alone if Snapchat is down right now. On Wednesday morning, Snapchat users began reporting downtime on Twitter and Downdetector. We were also able to confirm, using our own devices, that Snapchat appears to be experiencing problems.
So far, there have been approximately 1,180 Snapchat user reports of the outage, according to Downdetector’s outage page. The issues that users are reporting on Downdetector appear to be almost evenly distributed among the following issue categories: server connection, login, and app. On our end, the Stories feed does not appear to be able to be refreshed.
While no fix has yet been released, Snapchat has tweeted a response indicating that it is aware of the issue:
Since the initial issues, the problems that people have been reporting have changed. At the time, three issue categories on DownDetector had similar percentages, but now, it heavily favors “Server connection” and “App.”
This graphic compares the number of problem reports submitted in the last 24 hours to the average number of reports per hour of the day. It is normal to receive reports of issues throughout the day. Downdetector will only report an incident if the number of problem complaints is significantly greater than the average volume for that time of day.
