Samsung Unpacked August event 2022 revealed the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. Thanks to leaks, there were few surprises.
We saw… BTS showed off the Galaxy Z Flip 4, which has upgraded photo and video capabilities and a sleeker, more robust chassis. The Samsung Z Fold 4’s cameras, display, and processor were updated.
The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro have a new, compact design, Hi-Fi audio, 360 audio, and 24-bit audio for the first time in Samsung earbuds. The Samsung Watch 5 and 5 Pro were also shown. These wearables have a body temperature sensor and improved exercise and health tracking.

Galaxy Z Flip 4: Starting at $1,000
Like the Z Fold 4, the Flip 4 has a bottom-screen trackpad in Flex Mode and improved nighttime photography, including night portrait-mode photos. From the cover screen, you can send texts, make calls, and take portrait-mode images.

Galaxy Z Fold 4: $1,800
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a wider cover screen that makes apps look more like they’re intended and that’s designed to make look like a typical phone when it’s closed. A new Flex Mode feature, also coming to the Flip 4 lets you use the bottom half of the screen as a trackpad.
Samsung claims it’s more durable than its predecessor, notably the internal tablet-sized display. We were treated to a discourse on the upgraded hinge, the new screen-layer architecture and shock-absorbing sponge. The company also Samsung also says the inner screen is brighter, and will have a less noticeable under-screen camera. It inherits the nighttime photography improvements launched with the S22 line, including night portrait-mode photos.
Samsung says this is the first device with Android 12L, the version of Android optimized for tablets. 12L brings a new task bar for streamlining app switching.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro: Starting at $280 and $450
A larger, heavier Pro model with a titanium build joins the existing Watch sizes. Samsung says both Watches have longer battery life than earlier generations thanks to larger batteries (590 mAh in the Pro) and a sapphire crystal watch face instead of Gorilla Glass. Also, new faces.
Samsung says the bigger sensor contact area on the wrist will offer more accurate findings.
Samsung is giving preorder trade-in discounts: $75 off the Watch 5 or $125 off the Pro, with a $50 accessory credit.
Galaxy Buds 2 Pro
The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro provide surround and hi-fi audio when linked to a Galaxy phone running One UI 4.0 or later. Samsung’s battery lasts two hours longer.
Samsung’s Buds 2 Pro will get 360 LE audio later this year.
During Galaxy Unpacked, Samsung reaffirmed its environmental commitment. Since the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung has used recycled materials in packaging and hardware. Over 90% of the new Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are built from recyclable materials, according to Samsung. The new Galaxy Z series uses ocean-bound plastics and 100% recycled paper.
