Just as the dust is settling after Apple’s September presentation, leaks regarding Samsung’s new Galaxy S23 lineup have begun. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra may contain a 200MP camera, according to a new leak.
Ice Universe tweets that the S23 Ultra’s 200MP camera is “100% confirmed.”
Do not believe any imaginary news, everything is subject to me.

This ISOCELL module will be different from the ones that are already available, and its specs will be somewhere between those of the ISOCELL HP1 and the HP3. Some people think this is an ISOCELL HP2 that hasn’t come out yet. As always, you should take these rumours with a grain of salt because there’s no way to know if they’re true. However, Ice Universe has a good track record of getting leaks right, so it’s possible that these details are true.
You’d assume a camera with so many megapixels would have a large sensor. However Ice Universe says it’s “difficult to employ a substantially larger main sensor.” They discuss the sensor size and lens aperture, which might be 0.6m pixels and f/1.7 to capture more light.
We don’t know if the 200MP camera sensor on the Galaxy S23 Ultra is a step up or a step down from the one on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. But it could help the zoom work better at zoom levels that are not native. Most of the time, smaller pixels mean more noise, especially in videos where pixel binning not done. It looks like Samsung is more interested in numbers than in making products that are good.
But we won’t make a decision until we’ve had a chance to look at the Galaxy S23 Ultra. This won’t happen until early next year. The design of the phone will reportedly be very similar to that of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. It will have a faster processor (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2), a larger ultrasonic fingerprint reader, and software called One UI 5 that is based on Android 13
