Pixel 7 Series: India finally gets Pixel flagships after years of waiting

Pixel 7 Series

Multiple Pixel generations skipped India for years. The Pixel 6a changed that, and now it appears Pixel 7 series, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be available in India.

Google has skipped more Pixel smartphones in India than it has launched in recent years. Pixel 3 was Google’s last flagship in India until Pixel 3a. The Pixel 4 skipped India because of its Soli tech. Later that year, Google launched the Pixel 4a in India. Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, and Pixel 5a skipped it. Pixel 6 wasn’t sold in India.

Google returned to India this year with the Pixel 6a.

Flipkart launched a fresh Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro launch page this week, indicating the phones are “on deck” and all but confirming an India debut.

There’s no mention of pricing, colours, or storage tiers for these devices, only the Tensor G2 microprocessor. This is good news for Pixel 7. Google’s first flagship in India since 2018

Since the Pixel 6a’s Indian premiere coincided with the worldwide release, these new flagships are likely arriving to India next month. Flipkart, which sells Pixel devices solely in India, has also promoted the phone. Abhishek Yadav observed it, indicating the Pixel 7 launch is imminent.

Despite the official tease, it’s uncertain if the Pixel Watch will reach India.

Google released Pixel devices in India until the Pixel 3 series. Due to unapproved Soli radar technology, the Pixel 4 series couldn’t launch in the country. The next year, Google produced the Pixel 4a, a toned-down variant.

The Pixel 5 series and 5a were skipped during the epidemic. Google didn’t launch Pixel 6 in the nation. Amazon India sold these. As they were imported, users weren’t offered guarantees from Google India.

Google India’s recent announcement should please Pixel fans. It will be interesting to see how the Tensor G2-powered Pixel series compares to other flagships.
