We’re all excited for the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro to come out next month, but Google is finally saying goodbye to two of its most important phones. The Pixel 3a was the first in a line of great budget phones. It brought back the low price of older Nexus phones while delivering the camera quality most people expect from anything with the Pixel name. It got its last update that was guaranteed in May, but Google said that one more patch would come in July. Even though it’s a little later than what was promised, the new software is finally being released.
According to 9To5Google, the Pixel 3a and 3a XL will be upgraded today. Android 12L is the last update for these devices.
The Pixel 3a’s final update includes September security patches and other last-minute adjustments. Late drop. The company originally indicated its release would be in July. Google patched VoLTE in June, but that wasn’t the last Pixel 3a patch.
Google has made it a habit to send out final patches. The company waits a month or two after stopping regular software support to make sure that any last bugs are fixed. Earlier this year, the Pixel 3 and 3 XL went through a similar process, and now it’s the 3a’s turn.
Couldn’t Get QPR3?
It’s disappointing that Android 12 QPR3 wasn’t the phone’s final upgrade. 12L brings additional refinements than the quarterly platform release. Daily performance is good.
Google’s first mid-range phone was the Pixel 3a, marking a departure from luxury phones. It made the Pixel more accessible and was a sales success without sacrificing specs. 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and Android 9 Pie are included at launch.
Google’s 12.2MP rear and 8MP front-facing cameras were employed. The Pixel 3a offers limitless Storage saving (formerly High quality) backup at a mid-range price.
Polycarbonate unibody in Just Black, Clearly White, and Purple-ish; 3.5mm headphone jack, Active Edge to access Google Assistant. The $399 3a has a 5.6-inch (441 PPI) OLED and 3,000mAh battery, while the $479 3a XL has a 6-inch 402 PPI and 3,700mAh battery.
