Next Galaxy S22 update is camera-focused

Galaxy S22 update

Samsung is now pushing out this update. Sammy Fans reports that the update is hitting Korea right now and has firmware versions S901NKSU2AVHB, S906NKSU2AVHB, and S906NKSU2AVHB. No word on a wider distribution, but we expect it soon.

Samsung’s Galaxy S22 series received updates in 2022, including game throttling and camera enhancements. The next upgrade may also focus on the camera.

The Galaxy S22 series will get a camera-focused update this month, according to Samsung’s Korean forum (h/t: SamMobile). The 3x telephoto camera now has hyperlapse mode and faster QR code scanning.

The Hyperlapse option in the Camera app previously supported wide and ultrawide cameras. Astro Hyperlapse is in development, allowing users to take more artistic night sky images.

The QR scanner will have a larger scanning area and tap-to-scan if it can’t find the code. You couldn’t dismiss the message behind the QR code without closing the app or following the URL.

HDR Performance and colour reproduction also improved. Memory use and AI performance have also been improved. Improve stabilisation.

Hyperlapse and QR Code upgrades are also coming to the Galaxy S21 series, while the rest of the camera improvements are confined to the S22 and won’t reach prior flagships.

What’s More in Galaxy S22 update?

The update will also boost HDR and colours for images, night mode colour and brightness, and video quality and stabilisation.

The Korean company also revealed it will add astro hyperlapse as a future upgrade, but there’s no ETA. This is probably like Pixel’s astro timelapse tool, which lets you take a timelapse video of the night sky.

This update’s release date is unknown. We’re happy to see camera advancements on the Galaxy S22 series. A June update improved clarity, contrast, auto white balance, portrait mode, and more.
