New Motorola Edge (2022) renders, specs confirmed

Motorola Edge 2022

firstly, Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks) and Pricebaba leaked Motorola Edge 2022 press renders. In reported renders, the smartphone has a triple rear camera and LED flash. The phone’s back is curved. Now the leaker has released official renders of the final design (though the launch date is still unknown). Also, rumored specifications.

While most Motorola fans have their eyes on the Razr 2022 and X30 Pro (which were due to launch in China on August 2nd, but the event has since been cancelled), we’re also interested in a handful of other phones from the firm.

Motorola Edge has apparently been in development for a while. Evan Blass leaked in March 2022 that Motorola was working on 4 Edge-branded smartphones.

Moreover the vanilla Edge models are solid midranges. The Edge 30, 30 Pro, and 30 Fusion will have improved chipsets or cameras. Moto Edge X30 Pro/Edge 30 Ultra will top the series. Possibly. The X30 Pro and new Razr foldable didn’t happen today, but the event was cancelled without explanation.

Specs Overview

The phone will include a 6.5″ P-OLED panel with FHD+ resolution and 144Hz refresh rate, and a 32MP front camera. The back triple camera will feature a 50MP primary module with OIS, a 13MP ultra wide, and a 2MP depth sensor. The original Edge’s telephoto module and 108MP primary cam won’t return.

Furthermore The 2022 phone will reportedly use a MediaTek MT6879 instead of a Snapdragon 7-series CPU. Unofficially, it has an octa-core CPU (2x Cortex-A78 + 6x A55) and a Mali-G79 GPU. 6/8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage will include. The phone’s 6,000mAh battery supports fast charging.

Additionally Back panel contains Motorola logo. Right spine might have volume rockers and a power button. Motorola Edge 2022 reportedly has an in-display fingerprint scanner. The smartphone’s bottom could have a USB Type-C port, microphone, speaker grille, and SIM card slot. Renders show no 3.5mm headphone jack.
