Meta revamped its Quest lineup to match its Facebook parent company name. Naturally, this means the Oculus Quest 2 could be the last of its kind, as the Oculus Quest 3 will likely release as the Meta Quest 3 instead.
Meta’s Quest will likely take a different course than Project Cambria. Both VR experiences may use comparable tech, making it tough to compare rumours. With that in mind, here’s everything we know about the Oculus Quest 3 release date rumours, potential price, and its possible specs under the hood.
Zuckerberg spoke on Joe Rogan’s podcast recently. Zuckerberg said Meta’s next headgear will be out in October.
“For the next device that’s coming out in October, there’s a few big features,” said Zuckerberg. Meta’s CEO then discussed the device’s face tracking ability, which lets users create eye contact, facial emotions, and more in real time.
No other headset delivers face tracking like this. HTC offers a Vive attachment with partial facial tracking.
Although he doesn’t mention Project Cambria by name, how he describes the headset matches what’s known. High-resolution screen, eye-tracking sensors, and passthrough AR.
Bloomberg said Project Cambria may be called Meta Quest Pro. If Zuckerberg’s headset is the Meta Quest Pro, it will cost more than the Quest 2, even after its recent price jump.
