Given the rumours so far, we know what the iPhone 14 Pro could look like, but new renders show the improved design.
These images, by CAD artist Madmix, are based on what appear to be leaked Apple 14 Pro schematics and show the next-gen iPhone’s dimensions and design. You must buy the renderings and load them into a design software.
The renderings demonstrate how the iPhone 13 Pro’s display notch could be replaced by pill-shaped and circular punch-hole cutouts.
Before discussing the latest Apple 14 Pro renders, it’s vital to note how iPhone 14 design speculations evolved since September. The four iPhone 14 models are expected to have the same design as the iPhone 12 and 13 series. All four versions have smooth edges and corners.
iPhone 14 Pro worse notch?
The iPhone 14 small may be replaced with a 6.7-inch “iPhone 14 Max” that’s cheaper than the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Apple hasn’t mastered all-screen designs. The iPhone 14 Pro may have an all-screen display with two holes. The iPhone 14 keeps the iPhone 13 notch.
That will distinguish the Pro and non-Pro variants and give both iPhone 14 designs an iconic look. The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will have huge display cutouts. But they won’t have Apple’s iPhone X’s notch.
Aside from the notch, the iPhone 14 Pro’s design is similar to its predecessor’s. I hope the flat edges and side-mounted volume and power buttons are less glossy and fingerprint-sucking than on the iPhone 13 Pro. A trio of rear cameras lie in a square module, but a 48MP primary camera is an upgrade. The selfie camera on the Pro phones, Apple iPhone14 and 14 Max/Plus should gain a larger aperture and autofocus.
The renders reveal what seems like a Lightning port, which is a bummer because I anticipated Apple would adopt USB-C to keep up with the iPad Air and be ready for EU charging standards.
The iPhone 14 rumours favour Lightning over USB-C, so I’m not hopeful I’ll get the USB-C model I want. Unconfirmed reports give us hope.
The iPhone 14 is expected to arrive on September 13. Given that the iPhone 14 range will likely be evolutionary, it may be worth waiting for the iPhone 15 for more exciting updates.
91Mobiles teases, “We should learn more about the iPhone 14 series in the coming week.” With the Pros expected to get more expensive, pricing will be a major topic.
