September 2022 Android security patch for Pixels, not Pixel 6a yet
Pixel enthusiasts know to expect Google’s latest fixes on the first Monday of the month, unless there’s a US holiday like it was in July and this week. Google has released the September Patch for Pixel 4 and newer phones after a (hopefully) peaceful Labor Day weekend.
In addition to patches for a few severe security concerns, Google announces fixes for select devices. Google claims to improve the Pixel 6a’s fingerprint accuracy and speed. For all Pixel phones that enable wireless charging, we’ve got a couple of patches that should assist resolve issues.
Google Pixel Changelog September 2022
If you own a supported Pixel, you should get the September 2022 security update today. Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, and Pixel 6 Pro. The TP1A.220905.004 update is rolling out. Pixel 6a will be upgraded later this month.

Android Security Patch Bulletin September 2022
The September 2022 Android Security Bulletin lists high to critical vulnerabilities. The 2022-09-01 security patch level fixes Android runtime, Framework, System, and Project Mainline modules. The 2022-09-05 patch level resolves Android kernel and SoC-specific vulnerabilities.

Functional/Pixel Update Bulletin
Google has corrected vulnerabilities in the Pixel security update in addition to the Android Security Update Bulletin. No Pixel Feature Drop this month. Last month’s update, which brought Android 13 to stable, was more thrilling.
