The Apple Watch SE 2 is likely to come out in 2022. A few years after the first model came out, the company is getting ready for the second generation. Here’s what we know so far about Apple’s plans for this watch, even though not much is likely to change.

The Apple Watch SE is a redesigned Apple Watch 4. Even without an ECG reader, it’s more like the Series 4 than the Apple Watch 5 because there’s no always-on display.

If the Apple Watch SE 2 looks like the Apple Watch 7, what’s inside? We doubt it will acquire the Apple Watch 7’s tools, such Blood Oxygen. However, heart rate and GPS sensors are needed for fitness tracking.
We expect the Apple Watch SE 2 to have an altimeter, compass, and fall detection like the original. Since the Apple Watch 3 isn’t available in a Cellular edition, the Apple Watch SE GPS + Cellular is the most cheap way to use an Apple Watch without an iPhone. Moreover, if you want to provide a child or parent with a wristwatch for communication and safety, the Apple Watch SE is a wonderful choice.
The same rumour suggests Apple will put the Apple Watch 7’s S7 chip in the SE 2, along with a new battery, a better display, new speakers, and an ECG sensor. However, if all those features make it to the SE 2, $299 still sounds like a wonderful offer. Depending on Apple’s next flagship wearable, the Apple Watch 8 may not be worth extra $100.
What we expect to see
watchOS powers the Apple Watch. The first Apple Watch SE may be updated to watchOS 8, which adds support for digital keys and the Mindfulness app. When watchOS 9 is teased at the next WWDC, we’ll know more about Apple Watch SE 2.
