Android 13 Beta 3.1 bring over 100 bug fixes for Google Pixels

Android 13 Google Pixel

Most monthly Pixel updates include a couple of bug fixes, but Android 13 has 150. Pixel 6, 6 Pro, and 6a app-level tweaks to fingerprint sensor and networking speed enhancements.

On June 8, 2022, Google released Android 13 Beta 3 for Pixel phones. Two days later, the company updated Android 13 Beta 3.1 to fix a single issue: certain users were missing the Android Beta Feedback app.

According to GSM Arena, it’s odd why the Android Beta Feedback app was missing from Beta 3, given that the whole goal of the beta programme is to collect user feedback, but it’s great to see Google immediately remedy the issue by bumping Beta 3 by one point.

The known concerns from Android 13 Beta 3 still apply to Beta 3.1, according to Google.

If you’re participating in the Android 13 beta programme and have Beta 3 installed, you’ll receive Beta 3.1 OTA with build number TPB3.220513.017.B1. Alternatively, you can download it and install it manually.

Android 13 Beta 3 is compatible with Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, and Pixel 6 Pro.

Recent Pixels have a subpar fingerprint sensor and connectivity difficulties like dropped calls and signal strength concerns. Google’s changelog suggests the business is still working to address these problems to improve the user experience. Even modest changes for corner circumstances that rarely occur documented and addressed.

The statement at the beginning of the changelog implies these are fixes since the last Android 12-based update, but at least a couple of them, like the Settings app crashing when opening “password & accounts,” were tied to betas, so the list may be plumped up with beta-specific changes that Google didn’t explicitly note as such — and which therefore address issues most customers never experienced. We’ll let you know what Google tells us.

This underscores the company’s reputation for defective software (look at all the problems!) That’s a lot of fixes, thus it demonstrates how hard the company is working.

This is a comprehensive list of adjustments, fixes, and improvements in the Android 13 release.
