Amazfit to offer GTR 4 and GTS 4 with new design, bigger batteries, and improved tracking features

GTR 4 and GTS 4

Apple Watch and Wear OS aren’t the only smartwatches, even if they’re the best. Amazfit pushes its own software platform while undercutting the competition on price, providing wacky devices. Following its third-gen GT series of watches, the business is releasing the GTR 4 and GTS 4 with an industry first at IFA 2022.

Dual-band, circularly polarised GPS with five satellite systems (six following a firmware update) improves reception in difficult situations. Amazfit claims its configuration can catch double the signal of linear-polarized single-band GPS systems. The business is after Garmin’s neck.

BioTracker optical sensor and Zepp OS 2.0 can now monitor heart rate, breathing rate, blood-oxygen saturation, and stress levels in 45 seconds with one tap. Persistent tracking is available for heart rate, blood-oxygen saturation, and stress. More than 150 sport modes are tracked, including eight that are automatically detected. Strength trainers can programme their own interval templates and track VO2 Max.

Specs

1.43-inch AMOLED display is expected for the Amazfit GTR 4. It may have 466×466 pixels and Always on Display. The GTS 4 will have a 1.75-inch AMOLED screen with 390 x 450 pixels. The brand’s new 4PD BioTracker 4.0 PPG optical sensor measures heart rate, blood oxygen, and stress more accurately. Dual GPS means you don’t need your phone for GPS.

The Amazfit GTR 4 and GTS 4 will have a speaker and microphone for calls and music. Finally, Amazfit GTR 4 may pack a 475 mAh battery which is likely to provide you with 12-days of battery life. In Normal mode, the GTS 4’s 300mAh battery should last 7 days.

Price and Availability

The Amazfit GTR 4 and GTS 4 will start at €200 — a step up the price ladder from the third-gen and, consequently, just a little less padded from the competition. Germany and Poland begin preorders on September 2 and sales on September 12 and 16 respectively. Details on global availability will follow.

The GTS 4 Mini has a 1.65″ display, 120 sports modes, and a 15-day battery (270mAh). One in Black, Blue, White, or Pink costs $95 today.
