A $100 price increase for the iPhone 14 Pro now seems ‘likely.

iPhone 14 price increase

It looks like Apple is going to increase the price of the iPhone 14 Pro.

Multiple speculations say Apple’s next iPhone 14 Pro will be more expensive this year, so we should expect to spend extra for its high-end phones. Another source warns of costly iPhone Pro models.

Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives predicts the iPhone 14 Pro would “likely” cost $100 more than the iPhone 13 Pro. The iPhone 14 Pro would cost $1,099 and the 14 Pro Max $1,199.

Ives predicts a $100 price rise for the iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max because Apple component pricing hikes and greater capabilities. That echoes a tweet from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who believes the iPhone 14 could be 15% more expensive than the iPhone 13. Kuo didn’t disclose a price, but rumours have pointed to a $100 Pro price rise for months.

Kuo said Apple might offset the price bump by expanding iPhone 14 Pro storage. That would double the standard model’s 128GB capacity. Ives’ price projection didn’t mention storage upgrades.

Given the lack of contradictory price speculations, it appears the iPhone 14 Pro will increase by $100. Before inflation, that may be a tough pill for phone purchasers.

The iPhone 14 is expected to start at $799, but Apple’s non-Pro variants may cost more. The iPhone 13 mini, which starts at $699, may be replaced by the iPhone 14 Max, which will presumably cost $100 more.

Early indications show Apple is optimistic about iPhone demand this year, despite higher prices on some models. Apple has apparently ordered 90 million iPhone 14s.

Apple may be able to justify a $100 price increase for the iPhone 14 Pro with rumoured enhancements. The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max may feature a speedier A16 CPU, while the ordinary iPhone 14 will run on the A15, and pill-and-punch-hole cutouts for Face ID and the selfie camera. iPhone 14 Pro rumours include a 48MP camera with 8K video capture and an always-on display.
